Tatsushi Omori was born in Yokosuka city, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan.
He studied at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in the Percussion Instruments Program, specialising in the Marimba.  After receiving his degree, Tatsushi trained under various musicians including Keiko Tsunoda, Tomoyuki Okada, Christopher Hardy and Genichiro Siraishi. Tatsushi made his debut in 1999 with Yoko Kamihara as the Marimba & Percussion Duo Cheer’s. Since the launch of his career Tatsushi has been involved in the following projects:
2001: Marimba Solo Concert at Ginza Jyujiya.
2003 – 2009:  Guest percussionist of the American Symphony Orchestra performing over 200 concerts worldwide.
2004: Memorial concert hosted by the Japanese Consulate in Switzerland.
2012: Solo performance; Light & Darkness, a collaboration with modern art at the Nakamura Keith Haring museum in Yamanashi, Japan.
2014 – present:  Collaboration with Music Box, an ongoing residency at the Kiyosato Music Box Museum ‘Hall of Halls’.
2016: Solo record release ‘UTOPIA’, the world’s first collaboration with antique music boxes released on the MOEGINOMURA label.
2018: Appointed director of the Music Box Museum, Kiyosato, Japan. Appointed the ambassador of Yamanashi prefecture, Japan.
Present and Future Outlook:
Tatsushi is also an accomplished performer and has supported various musicians including Noriyuki Makihara, Chitose Hajime, Sukima-Switch, Masayoshi Yamazaki amongst others.
Now based in Kiyosato, Yamanashi prefecture Tatsushi Omori is balancing a busy career as a performer, collaborator and music educator. His tireless enthusiasm, wide variety of experience and sense of adventure will no doubt continue to lead him on towards new and exciting projects.
